Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the consumption of alcoholic beverages by the nomads of the Golden Horde in the 18th century based on narrative sources of various origin. The author studies such aspects of the subject as types of alcoholic beverages, process of producing beverages, reasons for drinking alcohol, beliefs and traditions associated with alcohol, alcohol poisoning and the related precautionary measures, drunkenness and the struggle against alcoholism among the nomads.
