Summary/Abstract: The article outlines the situation around Sufi brotherhoods in the period of dissolution of the Sublime Porte and analyses in general the condition of Islam and Sufis under the secular regime in 1923–1950, i.e. in the period of the most aggressive actions of laicists during the post-Ottoman regime in Turkey.
