Summary/Abstract: This article examines the meanings of second-hand consumption in the city of St. Petersburg. The data were collected from observation and semi-structured interviews with young consumers and experts. The findings concern peculiarities of second-hand retail spaces in the city, specific features of used clothes attractive to consumers and reasons explaining why young people in St. Petersburg chooses consumption of used material objects.
