Summary/Abstract: A construction X developed from the word Y can be found in the Russian language. It can be used to indicate a derivative or anetymological source of the word in order to resolve ambiguity. However, the expression may be found on the Internet in a differentform – X from the word “sovsem” is translated as final. Standard language rules forbid expressions of the sort; nevertheless, it isargued that this expression is natural for contemporary Russian. A new construction acts as an intensifier and in its developmentfollows specific patterns of grammaticalization, which are characteristic of intensifiers. For example TRUE > intensifier or BAD >intensifier. Other evidences supporting a suggestion of such natural expressions’ development are their successful employment invarious communicative situations and formation of similar constructions, some of which continue their further development as independentlanguage elements.
