Summary/Abstract: The article investigates the role and place of the industrial potential and heritage cities and regions of Russia with their branding and rebranding. The refinement of the concept of "brand" is given. The analysis of (post-) industrial resources in terms of a system approach is made. Industrial component of brand architecture is compared with other symbolic resources.
