MANAGEMENT OF NETWORK SECURITY OF A UNIVERSITY SERVER BY ANALYSIS OF LOG FILES

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to manage network security by analysis of log files of Apache web server. We try to detect problems related to network security. In theoretical terms various methods and tools for the analysis of log files are studied. The given methodology for analysing log files is presented for the first time in this study. It can be applied in the analysis of log files on other web servers.
