Summary/Abstract: The article traces the directions of transformation of the Russian mental foundations. Considered are such categories as feeling of national dignity, self-respect — self-disrespect; readiness for fight, civil activity — lack of will; religiousness — godlessness; collegiality — individualism; not moneymaking — greed; justice — benefit. The conclusion is drawn that decomposition of civilization bases begins with elite of society and various groups which have joined it.
