Summary/Abstract: The article shows the concept «intellectual» in the context of modern international political process. It is revealed that post-modernist, or global, intellectual combines two groups of characteristics: general, peculiar to intellectuals of any era (autonomy, publicity, high educational level, cosmopolitan outlook and political activism), and specific, caused by features of the globalization period (interaction with global audience, involvement in a global intellectual network, implementation of the cosmopolitan agenda in a political discourse, expansion of the public sphere beyond the limits of territorial borders through Internet activism practice).
