Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses some current trends of research and development in the field of digital libraries. The presentation is focused on some issues concerning semantic digital libraries and especially on the use of conceptual knowledge in providing semantic interoperability and enhancing their search engines. A particular semantic digital library has been considered as an illustration of the suggested ideas.
