Summary/Abstract: The physical characteristics of historical documents can be damaged if it is subjected to restorative procedures. This article is the result of direct observations made after the so-called Florentine restoration. The values derived from measurements which were made on watermarks that were also contained in the research material which fall under the size of a millimeter. I believe that such changes do not affect the filigranologic procedure due to the fact that the direct observation is not as subtle as to register. More often, to encounter and with the values which can reach up to 2-3 millimeters are the errors that are determined by the instrument which was used by the expert in watermarks or by their abilities in gathering the watermark.
