“ПОСЛА НЫ ДЕРЬВЬСКА ЗЕМЛЯ…”: ON THE PROBLEM OF TYPOLOGY OF ANNALISTIC TRIBES

Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the problem of typology of annalistic tribes, which existed before the formation of the Old-Russian state. We analyze the modern historiography of the problem, the latest methodological approaches used to solve it, and their heuristic potential. Based on the plot of “The Tale of Bygone Years” and using comparative historical and archaeological material, we reconstruct the structure of annalistic tribes, their social hierarchy and government system. We prove the idea about the long-term preservation of egalitarian features in the Eastern Slavs, which led to the heterarchical model of politogenesis, formed on the basis of military democracy.
