Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to show that in the theoretical discourse and pedagogical practice the differences in meaning between physical education process and physical education classes are not given adequate consideration. Possible semantic misunderstandings in this area are described in terms of possible reasons and important teleological irregularities. The starting point for the discussion focused on the identification of real limits of the causative power of physical education is a study of how the concept of physical education is understood among pedagogues. The author attempts to outline the precise range of attitudes, both those whose formation is possible in the process of physical education, as well as the ones which can be shaped during physical education classes. At the end of the article, the author formulates implications for educators who want to use the advantages of physical education in practical activities, with a particular emphasis on the specific expectations of correctional educators.
