THE FUNCTIONS OF SELF-REGULATORY ORGANIZATIONS

Summary/Abstract: The functional basis of self-regulatory organizations is viewed in the article. The necessity of clarifying and summarizing the statutory functions of SROs is proved. The possibility to consider the functions as a distinctive criterion and essential feature of self-regulatory organizations is shown. The author identifies the shortcomings of the current self-regulation system and points out the existence of institutions that perform functions similar to those of self-regulatory organizations.
