Summary/Abstract: The article considers the original style of Vladimir Nabokov, which is reflected in the selection of idioms from the phraseological fund of the language and the methods of their usage and transformation. It is found that the choice of phraseological units depends on their origin, degree of obsolescence and stylistic status. The author’s techniques of semantic and structural transformation of the units are identified.
