Summary/Abstract: In this article, we study the symbolic structure of the works created by L. Ulitskaya. We pay special attention to the questions of language signs acquiring symbolic meaning in the works of fiction. In addition, we discuss the principles of speech interaction between symbols in a literary text. The four principles are distinguished: overlapping, complementarity, identification, and contrast.
