Summary/Abstract: The paper suggests that political situation, economic development and spiritual values in the country in this or that period influence the development of musical journalism. Each stage in the history of musical journalism is characterized by a certain image of the author of a text on music. The idea is proposed that contemporary Russian musical journalism can be differentiated into specialized and mass one. The following general trends in its development in the modern period can be specified: depersonalization of music texts and their stereotypeness.
