Summary/Abstract: The following paper presents the benefits and costs which are the result of the existence of Special Economic Zones in Poland. The author takes effort to answer the following questions: is the form of public aid, which are SEZs, profitable for the country and regions? and Is further duration of Special Economic Zones reasonable? The article describes main consequences of the existence of SEZ’s. What is more, it juxtaposes the most important financial costs and benefits, which enables to appraise profitability of SEZs.
