Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes six stories of Yu.V. Buida’s cycle “Chronicles of the Osor’ins” in the dialogue with F.M. Dostoevskii. It is found that the internal plot of the cycle is connected with the philosophical problems of F.M. Dostoevskii’s works (freedom and captivity, crime and punishment, passion and voluptuousness), as well as with the types of his characters, phenomenon of karamazovshchina, motif of “threshold”, and actualization of the writer’s prophetic presentiments. The dialogical relations with F.M. Dostoevskii’s prose are also revealed through allusions, details, and narrative techniques.
