Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present different ways in which Adolf Dygasiński depicts a disabled child, a changeling, in his works. The manner in which the upbringing environment (family, church, school) is presented and the influence it exerts on an individual will be analyzed. The interpretation of selected works shall be enriched by the writer’s teaching works and reflections on the vision of a child in anthropology from the 18th century on. These deliberations will lead us to understanding of the influence of Dygasiński’s works on how disability was perceived by the society.
