Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses the narrative subject of pilgrimage (orthodox) essay. The pilgrimage tradition has influenced the essence of this type of essay, which is reflected in the genre-forming features and information tasks. The study examines the contemporary essays published by orthodox media over the recent 15 years. The most characteristic features of pilgrimage essay are revealed.
