Summary/Abstract: It frequently happens during forensic linguistic expertise that threats turn into speech acts with another meaning (advice, recommendation, and warning). This paper offers an overview of the legal admissibility of indirect speech acts with the meaning of threat and their neutralization by advice speech acts. Using the method of full pragmatic description of a communicative event, examples from the expert’s practical experience are analyzed. Conclusions are derived concerning the role of expert opinion when analyzing the speech act of indirect threat.
