Summary/Abstract: The author of the present article analyses the Russian phenomenon / phenomenon of Russia, the Czech view of Russia and Russian literature, the Czech Russian studies, its past and present, its problems and perspectives. He also demonstrates various orientations of departments of Russian studies and the dispersion of discoursive groups as well as the position of Russian studies in the Czech environment due to history and political situation.
