Summary/Abstract: In the article the problem of the financial difficulties of households to purchase enough food was undertaken. In order to identify the determinants of this phenomenon random effects probit model was employed. Data came from the research “Social Diagnosis – the conditions and quality of life Poles” conducted in the years 2000-2015. It was found that apart from of equivalent incomes and places of residence important impact had biological types of households.
