Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the use of the adverbial participle in the 19th-century printed monument of the Komi-Permyak language — the translation of the Gospel of Matthew (published in 1882) performed in the absence of a standardized literary language. The translation contains participles with the following markers: -икöн/ -ыкöн, -ыкас, -тöн, -тöг and -öмöн. While recognising the positive role of the translation for the Komi-Permyak literary language, it should be noted that remarkably often literal translation or translation loans are used there to render Church Slavonic constructions.
