Summary/Abstract: The peculiarities of state regulation and self-regulation of trade as a socially important type of business activity are considered in the paper. The concept of social entrepreneurship with regard to trade is discussed. The conclusion is made about the necessity of development in the normative legal order of the special status of an entity performing the activities related to social entrepreneurship in the presence of certain signs. The problem of state regulation of trade margins to prices is analyzed. Interaction between the associations (unions) of consumer goods manufacturers and retailers on the basis of the Code of Good Practice of Relations between Trade Networks and Suppliers of Consumer Goods is identified as a particular model of self-organization in the field of trade along with self-regulation. Suggestions are made on improvement of the trade legislation, including those concerning the status of social shops, etc.
