Summary/Abstract: Azerbaijan is an important country for Turkey due to its cultural and geographical proximity. Valuable underground resources play an important role in the development of Azerbaijan’s economy. Bilateral trade with Azerbaijan is important for Turkey given Turkey’s dependence on oil and natural gas imports. In this study, the relationship between trade with Azerbaijan and Turkey’s economic growth is investigated. Toda-Yamamoto causality test suggested by Hacker and Hatemi-J (2006) is applied on quarterly data for the period 1999- 2014 in the study. According to the results of the analysis there is a unidirectional relationship running from economic growth to exports to Azerbaijan.
