Summary/Abstract: The health system in the Republic of Macedoniahas a long tradition in promotingthe health of children and women in childbearingage. For years, the system is providingcontinuous care during pregnancy, childbirth andneonatal period and access to modern medicaltechnology to deal with the most critical medicalproblems. Programs to promote health includecreating better living conditions, safe pregnancy,improving the safety and well-being.The health system in the Republic of Macedoniastands in front of numerous challengesthat determine the health of children and women.Despite the continuous efforts and measuresto improve the health protection of children andmothers in recent years, the Republic of Macedoniafaces death cases of mothers and newborns.
