Three socketed axes from the collections of the National Museum of Antiquities

Summary/Abstract: The article presents three socketed axes from the collections of the National Museum of Antiquities. The possible functions of this item characteristic to Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age and its production technique are reviewed by the author. Discovery contexts of this item type are essential in decoding its function, but iconographic sources are also of great help in this respect.
