Summary/Abstract: The change of political system originated from Round Table Agreement gave to social sciences new development possibilities due to the facts that: 1) censorship and ideological limitations disappeared, 2) political phenomenons and structures appeared, the lack of which in the past limited research possibilities of scholars. It significantly concerns sociology of policy and political science. These disciplines did not start from scratch in Poland because of relatively liberal political climate in Poland after 1956, the condition of these sciences was significantly better than in other socialist countries. In the circumstances of restored democracy, sociology of policy became a collective political expert whose results are respected by politicians and influence public opinion.
