Methodological aspects of assessment of Pension Funds influence on the economic development of Poland

Summary/Abstract: The analysis described in the paper confirms essential, positive influence of Pension Funds investment effectiveness on the economic development of the country. The results of examined co-integration prove the long-term nature of cause-and-effect relations between the development level of Pension Funds and economic development of the country. Statistical quality of the presented models is of such a high level that it can guarantee the correctness and essence of the conclusions presented in the paper. The authors are aware of the fact that the presented research does not entirely explore the issue and it should require further investigation. In the course of further research it should be essential to answer the question whether the 2014 year reform of the social insurance system has had any influence on relations studied in the presented paper. Continuation of such research depends, however, on the fact whether Pension Funds will continue their activity in the nearest future.
