Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article isto briefly analyze specific legal norms: “general reference clauses” – in view of the Polish contemporary constitutional law. These norms are expressed in legal texts but they refer to extra-legal values and are “opened” for them. Considerations are focused here on the selected regulations of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of April 2, 1997 and selected rulings of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal.
