Summary/Abstract: Analysis of the 24 years of changes in Poland present that – on the one hand – well-made political and economic transformation – on the other hand – weakness of the social transformation which led to the so-called "sociological emptiness" in which individuals are „socially disable". There have not been developed any pro-market and pro-social attitudes, therefore one can observe the lack of social capital in Poland. Economic growth is not possible without active, creative and innovative entrepreneurs. Unfortunately these features which can be only derived from the so-called „soft skills", where not efficiently developed in the Polish society. Solution that can changed this situation is connected with the „informal education", which should be included to the system of traditional formal education system. Therefore, one can observe the increase of interpersonal trust and social activity; this should lead to the improvement of the social capital main determinants and consequently to the increase of the competitiveness of the Polish economy.
