Production and use of electricity in Mazowsze with the consideration of renewable energy sources

Summary/Abstract: In today’s economy more and more important issues are related to energy consumption and industry energy efficiency. The energy economy is a link with the majority of branches of national economy − industry, agriculture, construction and transport. The article is to present the production and consumption of electricity in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. Moreover, the issues of energy in Poland are generally described in the article, with the consideration of renewable energy sources. The article also includes the analyses of statistics from the Central Statistical Office which concern: electricity production and consumption, power production from renewable energy sources and their share in the overall electricity production as well as changes in the structure of electricity consumption broken by various sectors. It should be claimed that Mazowsze has energy potential as far as RES are concerned, which is proved by an increase in energy production from renewable energy sources and a higher share of RES in the overall energy production.
