Summary/Abstract: The present study makes a brief excursion into the history of Romanian teaching in Sebeş – Alba during the last decade of the 19th. The study focuses on the personality of Nicolae Todea, teacher at the orthodox confessional school, who contributed to promoting the cultural and artistic values inside the Romanian community of the town. The information regarding teacher Nicolae Todea, was taken from the Sebeş Orthodox Parish archives preserved in the Romanian National Archives, Alba County Branch. The material was organized following the chronological criteria, having to face the inherent difficulties related to the lack of information that could allow us to write a complete biography of the teacher.
