Application of the entrepreneurial approach to local economic developmentin peripheral communities in Republic of Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The report aims to present the entrepreneurial approach as a response to the critical issues in local economic development in peripheral municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria and to highlight the role of clustering of economic activity for facilitation of regional vertical and horizontal coordination, reduction of costs for information, promotion of R & D, development of human capital, etc.The paper analyzes the entrepreneurial approach to economic development of the three peripheral communities as a catalyst for creating a local environment that stimulates and supports science, innovation and continuous improvement of business organizations and enhances their competitiveness at regional, national and global market.
