Summary/Abstract: The author tells about the second part of the life of Ota Benga, a Pygmy brought to the USA at the beginning of 20 century, where he became respectively: a curiosity from the border of the human and animal worlds, an exhibit illustrating a primitive civilization, a subject of scientific research and a subject to the clergy, who tried to civilize him. The story forces us to reflect upon the nature of the Western culture that places itself in the centre of the universe.
