Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to show the relationship between the liturgy and popular piety especially in the Middle Ages. Particularly at that time the unity of Paschal Mystery was broken up in the faithfull’s minds. Due to the religious and cultural changes in the medieval period the passion devotion was born as less theological form of experiencing the relationship with Jesus Christ focused more on its emotional aspect.
