Summary/Abstract: In Algeria, many of enterprises in the economic sector have become aware of the need to integrate sustainable development into their management. ISOstandardization is chosen as a means of taking account of the dimensions of sustainabledevelopment. This choice represents an axis of the national sustainable developmentstrategy. For the deployment of this axis, the authorities grant consistent financial grants tocompanies who voluntarily engaged in the standardization process and its objectives are,hands modernize systems management to improve economic performance, and the otherfacilitates the integration of environmental and social aspects in the management ofbusiness concerns. This article contains the results of an exploratory study conducted innine companies in the public industrial sector in which we have tried to understand to whatextent the choice of ISO certification make socially responsible companies.
