Summary/Abstract: One of the major mistakes in assessing the significance of medieval philosophy for the development of science is omitting all the historical context in which philosophy and sciences evolved. Meanwhile, medieval philosophy has made a synthesis of faith and intellect. It also distinguished philosophy from theology which gave the beginning of new branches of science. For this reason, medieval philosophers should be considered also as scholars in the contemporary sense of the word.
