Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present and evaluate diversification of Polish food exports considering difficulties in Russian market access. The embargo introduced by Russia on the food products imported from the European Union and the economic crisis on this market caused a strong decline in sales of food from Poland in this country. As a result of the literature study and the analysis of statistical data concerning the Polish foreign trade in 2012-2015, it was concluded that the situation on the Russian market influenced the growth of the food exports from Poland both to the EU and further markets – the United States, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. Increased diversification of Polish food foreign sales enhances the potential of Polish companies in the sector and encourages the process of its internationalization. It is expected, that activities undertaken to adapt to the new situation in the environment will increase the flexibility of Polish food producers in international market.
