Summary/Abstract: Polish foreign trade tightly depends on markets of highly developed economies, mainly from Europe. 90% of Polish export goes to European countries from which 79% to the European Union. The same relation can be noticed in import – 76% of goods come from Europe and 59% from the European Union. Polish exporters are not so active on the markets with dynamic economic and demographic growth and Poland often has negative trade balance with these countries. It seems very important for Polish business to search for new markets and new opportunities in different parts of the world. The most attractive markets are: China, India, ASEAN and Near and Middle East countries. Poland can be an interesting partner for this group of countries and it can offer them highly developed products. However, Polish export on global markets needs to be supported by formal state activity and native brands should be promoted effectively worldwide by professional agencies.
