Summary/Abstract: The psalm is one of the most complex musical and poetic genres, and one of the oldest in humankind history. The Psalms in the Bible indicate that music served as a form of communication with God, either to praise Him, or to ask for His forgiveness. "Address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord" (Ephesians 5, 19). One of the poetical books of the Old Testament of great spiritual and artistic value is David’s Book of Psalms, legacy which instilled deeply religious feelings in all composers throughout time. People’s need to sing their faith through old testament texts prompts us to conduct even more detailed research into universal musical baroque creation based on the Psalms.
