Summary/Abstract: In the study its author addresses the issue of lasting 8 years of the economic crisis in Greece. He analyzes the size and structure of the credit assistance granted to Greece by the Troika, especially in the first and second aid program. Then he evaluates the effects of the aid and concludes that they have not caused the expected economic recovery. The economic situation in Greece is still tragic, from the beginning of the crisis there has been a drop in GDP and rising unemployment, with consumption advantage over the national income. The main reason is the failure to realize or to take to an unsatisfactory degree the measures to reform the economy, which was a requirement for help. The author considersing various scenarios for Greece’s exit from the economic collapse. He agrees with the view that the least evil would be a Greek exit from the euro zone, and then the introduction of drachma and its devaluation. It would be connected with an initial significant decline in the standard of living of the population, but over time it would ensure the recovery of competitive ability by the Greek economy and its entry on growth path.
