The use of labels with respect to computer vocabulary in the general dictionaries of the Polish language

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the usage of labels in the description of words connected with computers in the general dictionaries of Polish: {Uniwersalny słownik języka polskiego} (‘Universal Dictionary of Polish’), {Inny słownik języka polskiego} (‘Different Dictionary of Polish’), {Słownik współczesnego języka polskiego} (‘Dictionary of Contemporary Polish’), {Praktyczny słownik współczesnej polszczyzny} (‘Practical Dictionary of Contemporary Polish’) oraz {Słownik języka polskiego PWN} (‘PWN Dictionary of Polish’). The analysis shows that each dictionary has its own characteristic system of labels; the differences can be detected both in the number of types of labels and in the range of their uses.
