The Idea of Education by the Order of Michel Archangel

Summary/Abstract: The idea of education according to the 19/20th century Roman catholic priest Bronisław Markiewicz has been nowadays appreciated as one of the innovatory educational concepts. This idea of education is also valuable in our days as to suffice the needs of individuals, communities and the Church as well. The aim of the present study is to reconstruct theoretically different factors that influenced that innovatory educational concept, and presentation of its specificity and genesis. The author of the present study especially analyses its theoretical principles based on the religious movement Temperance and Labour, and the other factors like the love of one’s neighbour in service of social, cultural and axiological education. Moreover, a role of the preventive method in the educational method of father Bronisław Markiewicz is particularly exposed in the broad context of a system of education and discussions on the idea of a teacher.
