TENDENCIES IN POLISH SEAPORTS

Summary/Abstract: Port operations systematically change, as globalization, offshoring, global value chains, containerization force adaptation processes. The aim of the paper is to assess the changes in the Polish ports from the perspective of their cargo traffic. The paper presents time series – based on official statistical materials – of the size of cargo in Polish seaports taking into account the amount of cargo transported in transit. The analysis of statistical data is the basis for the formulation of assessment of the role of seaports in transport chains passing Poland.
