Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the characteristics of the language that is used in the Internet, focusing on the entirely new medium of its existence. Conceived as oral speech and realized as a written text, it bears a number of the characteristic features of oral colloquial speech and can be defined as “conceptual oral speech”. The fact that the members of the Internet communities are anonymous implies greater freedom of communication in the forums and the blogs and raises the question of observing the netiquette, which is the subject of this analysis.
