Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the recent interpretations of Mithraism, analyzing the ideas of two historians of religion who are very influential today, Richard Gordon and Roger Beck, in order to individualize the interpretative vein and the method of anthropologic extraction that has led to the current understanding of the Mithraic cult.
