Summary/Abstract: Nowadays there are various crises in economy, society and the environment. There are even such concepts as “global risk society” or “eternal crisis” as a description of the condition. A characteristic feature of the economy are still financial and economic crises that usually have a global nature. This situation is associated with the contemporary model of capital accumulation. The crisis of the European Union, which is between the concept of neoliberalism and the increase of nationalism in different EU countries, is characteristic. Its existing regulations are even threatened; and thus, its further development. Nowadays quantitative and qualitative differences between the pre-industrial and modern burdens of nature can be noticed. Some planetary boundaries of burdens of nature have already been exceeded; and in other areas there is a growing variety of threats, even though many of them have not yet been quantified. In fact, modern society and economy produce a variety of risks related to the efficient use of natural resources, instability processes of capital accumulation, or threatening situations for employees. The possibilities of limiting the crisis phenomena are associated with the presence of the concept of sustainable development, global regulation, as well as the sustainable economy.
