Summary/Abstract: This essay analyses the work of Edward Pasewicz, beginning with "Dolna Wilda" (Lower Wilda), and ending with the book "Och, Mitochondria" (Oh, Mitochondria). The author attempts mainly to show the rhizomatic nature of Pasewicz’s work, which hinders literary criticism’s efforts to create a coherent narrative about his poetry. Taking a biocentric and affective perspective, the essay discusses the figure of “protein” as one joining together several threads in Pasewicz’s poetic oeuvre: language, the body, the somatic, the organic, and musicality.
